CMHK donates 10,000 sets of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits
Stand with the elderly to fight against the pandemic

(Hong Kong, 5 March, 2022) - Hong Kong is facing the toughest challenge ever since COVID-19 appeared. There is a lack of anti-epidemic resources, shortage of antigen testing services, and a surge in infection rates in elderly care homes. In response to the situation, LEGCO member and the President of the Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council (HKITJC) Mr. Duncan CHIU collaborates with China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) to connect with The Elderly Services Association of Hong Kong and donated 10,000 sets of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits to the Rehabilitation & Healthcare Homes managed by the association.

CMHK has been serving the Hong Kong community for 25 years by actively fulfilling its social responsibilities, all the time committed to charity and caring for the elderly group with actions. In December 2021, CMHK lends full support to the Jockey Club Digital Support Project for the Elderly by working hand in hand with various NGOs. CMHK carefully selected over 5,000 smartphones suitable for the elderly together with a 12-month free basic mobile service, helping them to enjoy the convenience brought by digital technology. In addition to that, the elderly was offered a preferential service plan that started at the low price of $38 and a free "Smartphone Tutorial Class" at the CMHK customer service centres, assisting them to fight the pandemic using the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile app and their smartphones. Over 40,000 senior citizens have been served since 2022.

Mr. Sean Lee, Director and Chief Executive Officer of CMHK says, "As a caring company, CMHK is always committed to fulfilling corporate social responsibilities and giving back to the Hong Kong community with our expertise. We are dedicated to providing telecommunications and data network support for those in need, enabling their inclusion into a smart modern society with our high-quality, leading communication technologies."

CMHK stands with Hong Kongers throughout the pandemic. We will pay close attention to the COVID-19 development and do all we can to provide support whenever necessary, hoping to help unite all fronts within the city to overcome the challenges ahead.
