Service Usage Policy

- Service Usage and Fair Usage Policy:
Customer hereby understands, agrees and accepts that the use of the Mobile Service is subject to this Service Usage Policy and that Customer must use the Mobile Service in a reasonable manner. China Mobile Hong Kong Co. Ltd. (“CMHK”) may monitor the Customer usage of the Mobile Service and will consider the use of the Mobile Service as inappropriate if the use :
- will hack, interfere or cause any malfunction to CMHK’s network,
- will amount to resell of the Mobile Service without prior consent of CMHK.
- Fair Usage Policy (FUP):
When the monthly data usage reaches the plan entitlement, less network resources for access will be allocated subject to the prevailing network conditions, customers’ data service experience may be affected. We will restrict and not allow to use tethering, and peer-to-peer (P2P) upload and download, including BitTorrent. However, the reduced access speed shall not be capped below the standard advised by the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) under the “Guidelines for the Implementation of Fair Usage Policy for the Provision of Mobile and Fixed Broadband Services”. Customers have to pay any charges incurred for usage in spite of any actions taken by CMHK.
To ensure network resources are allocated fairly among customers, we may take the following actions:
- General Terms and Conditions:
CMHK reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this Service Usage Policy from time to time without prior notice and such revisions shall become effective upon posting on the CMHK website.
In case of any conflict between the English and Chinese versions of this Service Usage Policy, the English version shall prevail.
